85 Years of Precision Machining
Meaden Screw Machine Products was founded as a joint venture by John A. Meaden and his son John Jr. They began manufacturing in a four-car garage on Kedzie Avenue in Chicago in 1939.
Soon, the newly formed company became active in manufacturing for the US Government during WWII. This demand for production capacity soon forced the company to seek larger quarters. The Meaden family purchased land on the South Side, erecting a new manufacturing facility. This facility was expanded twice to keep pace with the ever-growing needs of the company.
In the late 70’s, Meaden was on the move again. With expansion again necessary, a plot of land was purchased in Burr Ridge, Illinois and a new building was constructed.
In 1979, the Meaden family relocated to a modern 40,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Burr Ridge, located just twenty minutes southwest of downtown Chicago. The site was chosen for its convenient access to the Interstate Highway System and its closeness to two major airports.
During the 1990s, the building was expanded, and the company's name was changed to better represent our extensive capabilities.
Today, Tom Meaden and Jerry Baskovich continue to guide our business, upholding the same objectives and direction established by John A. Meaden and John Meaden Jr.
We are ISO 9001:2015 certified QMS, ITAR Registered and a proud member of the PMPA.
Screw Machining at its finest!
We have over 50 Screw machines - both Davenport and Wickmans combined. Even a few Wickman Screw Machine Hybrids!
Our versatile CNC Department has wide array of machines - starting with Mori Seiki's, EuroTech's and Citizen Swiss machines.
Our Engineering department consists of 4 Engineers with over 80 years' experience combined to support customers with any design questions or problems. Our engineering team is eager to collaborate with your engineering department to ensure thorough consideration of all factors affecting cost, quality, and reliability.
The Meaden family has always understood the importance of investing in their company. This has consistently involved meticulous planning, clear direction, and set goals, all aimed at propelling the company boldly into the future. Presently, the majority of our equipment has been upgraded with modern machinery and technology.
